Chotila Chamunda Mata Temple History:
Chotila Chamunda Mata Temple is one of the popular temples nested in Chotila a small town situated in Rajkot of Gujarat. The temple of the Chamunda Mata is housed on the top of the hill. One should climb 700 steps to darshan mother goddess Chamunda Mata. Also, one who cannot climb the hill can also seek blessings and can also offer pooja to the replica of Chamunda Mata which is present at the foothill of the main temple. The temple follows a unique ritual. That is aarti offered to the deity is offered without any chants, but during aarti, drums are played. The aarti is started with dhoop and followed by the aarti of diyas or lamps. In the evenings that are after the shayana aarti, the temple remains closed. The temple celebrates the Navratri festival for nine days with a great enthusiasm and fun.
Note: Devotees who cannot climb the foothill (700 Steps), can worship the goddess at the entrance of the Chotilo Hill where the replica of the mother goddess is been housed.
