Sri Agatheeswarar Temple History:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Sri Agatheeswarar Temple is one of the popular temples which was established in the 12th<\/sup> Century. The temple has a Self Evolved or Swayambhu Lingam (Lord Shiva).\u00a0 According to the legends Saint Agathiya worshipped the deity after returning to Podhigai from the Himalayas. Hence the Lord is worshipped as Sri Agatheeswarar. The goddess Aananthavalli also been worshipped in this temple.\u00a0 It is also Said that Lord Saneeswarar (Saturn) came to the temple of Lord Maha Kala Bhairavar to worship to get rid of sins.<\/p>\n

There are many beliefs followed in this temple also devotees visit this temple to worship the deities to get rid of evil effects. This temple is popularly known for performing the Sani Dosha pooja. Many poojas and rituals are been performed to please the Saturn god and the other deities to get rid of evil and bad effects.<\/p>\n
