Vedanthangal Bird Sanctuary extended over an area of 30 hectares of land in the Kancheepuram district of Tamil Nadu. The Sanctuary houses many different bird species including both migratory birds and also resident or local birds. Nearly 40,000 birds can be spotted in this bird sanctuary. The best time to visit this bird sanctuary is between Novembers to March. During this session, birds could be spotted building their nest for their nesting. This Sanctuary is been secured for 250 years by the village people, as they observed that the water containing the bird’s guano acts as a good fertilizer to the plant crops. This sanctuary completely depends on the rainy season, during the rainy season this sanctuary gets splendid with the birds.<\/p>\n
