Elephant Falls History:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Elephant Falls located in Shillong is named by the Britisher\u2019s as there was a rock resembling the shape of an Elephant. Unfortunately, the rock doesn\u2019t exist either, as it has been destructed during the earthquake in Shillong. The local people that is the Khasi people named these falls as the (Ka Kshaid Lai Pateng Khohsiew) which means the Three Steps Waterfalls. It is named because the waterfalls are showered at three steps. These elephant Waterfalls are heavy during and after monsoons.\u00a0 The three levels of the falls are been provided with a climb down through the steep steps to get the entire view of the three levels of the waterfall. These waterfalls are spectacular to view. These waterfalls got a pretty good view especially for photographs, also one can get the Khasi local costumes to get a perfect click like the Khasi people of Shillong.<\/p>\n
