Karikala Chola, Rajaraja the great, Jatavarman Sundara Pandyan, and Krishna Devarayar are associated with Thiruvaiyaru. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The temple has two distinct divisions called \u2018Uttarakailasam\u2019 and \u2018Dakshinakailasam\u2019. Uttarakailasam was built by Rajaraja Cholan\u2019s queen in the late 10th century who also made several endowments. Dakshinakailasam was renovated by Rajendra Cholan\u2019s queen.
