Maharajganj<\/strong> is one of the districts in Uttar Pradesh in northern India. This is located in Terrain regions of Himalayas, bordering Nepal in North. This district covers an area of 2951 sq. km.  The Religious temples Lehra Devi and Itahiya Panchmukhi Shiv Mandir in famous in the region and in Nepal. According to the 2011 census, the population of this place is 2,673,878.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Temple of Goddess(Lehda):<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Lehda is the temple of God was established during the\nMahabharata period by earning itself in the time of Pandavas agnatavas. The ancient name of this religious place was \u2018Adaruna Devi Than\u2019, which\nis now known as Lehda Devi Temple. Arjun had established this Shakti Peeth as\nper the order of Mother Bhagwati. Huien- Tsang famous chinese traveller also\nmentions this temple in his book Si-Yu-Ki. During the British rule the Lehra is\none of the Military Camp. One day British officer fired his bullet on the\nPindi. Blood started coming out of Pindi. Once maa came to the town as a\nbeautiful girl and wanted to cross the river. She hired a boat and started the\njourney but in middle of the river the boatman grew interested in her splendid\nbeauty and went off track. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 It is believed that if a person visits the\ntemple for regular 5 Tuesdays, his wishes are fulfilled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Sohagibarwa Wildlife Sanctuary:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Sohagibarwa Wildlife Sanctuary <\/strong>is situated in the Maharajganj District of UP. There are 2 entry points to enter the Sanctuary \u2013 Pakari Range and Chauk Range. Panther is the flagship species of the Sanctuary. Visitors can book the tickets to visit the place from the office of Divisional Forest Officer and also from the entries to the Sanctuary. The visitors have to carry their photo id proofs and for foreigners have to carry their passport to enter into the sanctuary. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Munias, Mynas, , Snipes, House Sparrow, House\nCrow, Wood peckers, Rose ringed parakeet, Golden Oriole, Spotted owlet, Little\nheron, Lesser adjutant, Purple Heron, Shovelers, Doves, Jungle fowl, Hornbills,\nBee eaters, Bulbuls Barbets, Babblers, Drongos, Tree pie, Ibises, Northern\npintail, , Bar headed goose, Common shell   duck, Marbled duck, Pond\nheron, Open billed stork,  Grey lag goose Sarus crane, Lesser whistling\nteal, Egrets, Flamingos ,Comb duck, Coots, Cormorants, Cranes ,White Spoonbill,\nBlack naked crane, Peafowl, Cuckoos, Darters, White breasted kingfisher,\nSandpipers, Common teal. Gadwall, Mallard, Spot billed duck, Common pochard,\n Ruddy shelduck, Wigeon, Painted stork, Tufted duck etc., are the bird\nspecies sited in the wet lands and high forest area of the Sanctuary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Best Time To Visit:<\/strong> November 15th<\/sup> to 15th<\/sup> June.               <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Sanctuary will be closed from 16th<\/sup> June to 14th<\/sup>\nNovember.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                For Indian Rs\n300 per Room<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                For\nForeigners Rs 500 and Rs 15 per day for electric charges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do\u2019s and Don\u2019ts in the Sanctuary:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Fire arms of any kind are not permitted.<\/li>
  • Pets are not allowed.<\/li>
  • Walking and tracking is strictly prohibited.<\/li>
  • Entry is permitted only for day time.<\/li>
  • Littering and Garbage are not allowed to be thrown inside the\n sanctuary.<\/li>
  • Smoking in the Sanctuary is strictly prohibited.<\/li>
  • Playing transistors and tape recorders are not permitted.<\/li>
  • The blowing of horns and driving above the speed limit is\n prohibited.<\/li>
  • Vandalism is not allowed.<\/li>
  •  Entry without valid permit is not allowed.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                    Gorakhpur to\nSanctuary \u2013 56 KM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                    Lucknow Airport to\nSanctuary \u2013 300 KM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    3. Bokra Devi Temple:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    The Bokra Devi Temple<\/strong> is located on a high mound and covers about 1Acre area. This temple is surrounded by a <\/strong>thick forest of Sohagibarwa Wildlife Sanctuary. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Bokra Devi. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
