1. Place To Visit Pangong Lake<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Pangong Lake is located at a height of about 14,270 Ft. This lake\nis 134 Km long and is extended from India to the Tibetan Autonomous Region,\nChina. During winter the lake will be frozen completely. The eastern part of\nthe lake is fresh, the western part is saline. As the water is brackish it has\nvery low micro-vegetation. There are no fishes or other aquatic life on the\nIndian side of the Lake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lake is an important breeding ground for a variety of birds including a number of migratory birds. During summer, Bar-headed goose and Brahmini ducks are commonly seen. The region also supports a number of wildlife\u2019s that include the Kiang and the Marmot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Nubra Valley In Ladakh<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Nubra Valley is also known as \u201cBroken Moonland\u201d because in winter the valley looks like the landscape of the moon. It is located in the northeast of Ladakh and is a Tri-armed valley. Nubra valley is formed by the Shyok River and the Siachen River. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nubra valley is originally called as LDUMRA which means \u2018The\nValley of Flowers\u2019. It is also known as Orchard of Ladakh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The valley is a remote place but captures the interest of tourists as well as trekking destination. Diskit Monastery which is 350 years old is the main attraction of this village. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Lamayuru Monastery<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Lamayuru Monastery is a Tibetan Buddhist\nmonastery, in Leh district. This monastery is the oldest and one of the largest\nmonasteries in Ladakh. This is in the valley and has a clear lake at the time\nof the Sakyamuni. The lake was dwelling place of the holy snake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 King of\nLadakh ordered the construction of this Monastery in 10th<\/sup> century.\nThere are 5 buildings in the original Gompa. The centre one stands still.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The area surrounding the monastery is declared as\nthe sanctuary where no one could be arrested and no taxes were collected. Lamayuru is still considered as the Tharpa Ling,\nthe “Place of Freedom”. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Shanti Stupa Ladakh<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Shanti Stupa was constructed in 1991 by Bhikshu Gyomyo Nakamura,\nthe Japanese Buddhist. The architecture and the beauty of this place are\nunexplained. This is the white-dome structure dedicated to Buddha. The idol was enshrined by the 14th Dalai Lama. The beauty of Shanti Stupa takes a level up at\nnight, especially during the full moon night when it is naturally illuminated\nby the moonlight. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shanti Stupa is situated at an elevation of 4,267\nmetres and provides a spectacular view of the Himalayan Ranges that surround\nthis structure. The walls of Shanti Stupa are painted with colourful reliefs\nthat depict the milestones in the life of Gautama Buddha- his birth, his fight\nagainst devils, his victories over injustice and his death. There is a very big\nmeditation hall inside where you can sit, chant the Lord’s name, meditate and\nfind your inner peace. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lake runs about 28 Km in length and 100 ft deep. The camp around the lake gives the breath-taking view of the lake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7. Alchi Monastery<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Alchi monastery is located in the Alchi village of Ladakh. This monastery unlike the other is cemented on the flat ground. The traditional architecture of the monastery is a canonical complex which has 3 separate temples like Dukhang, Sumstek and Manjushri. The foundation of the monastery was in the 10th century by an eminent Tibetan scholar, Rinchen Zangpo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
