Gulmarg is located at an altitude of 8956.69 Ft. above the\nsea level. The place is known for its scenic beauty as the place is surrounded\nby snow-capped mountains, lush green meadows, evergreen forested hills, valleys\nand deep ravines. The place is known as \u2018The Skiing School and Honeymoon\u2019 spot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The place is been developed as an adventure hub as Indian\nInstitute of Skiing and Mountaineering is located here. A lot of courses on\ntrekking, mountaineering, skiing etc. are offered here. The place is also one\nof the top honeymoon spots as there is no much crowd compared to the places\nlike Manali and Shimla. The place is most famous for Ski destinations, for\nexperiencing skiing on the snow loaded slopes winter is the best time to visit.\nIn summers the place becomes more beautiful and in autumn the place is filled\nwith the beauty of flowers that blossoms in the brightest of their colors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Gulmarg Gondola<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Gulmarg Gondola<\/strong> is a ropeway started jointly by J&K government and a French Organisation, Pomagalski. This project is considered as Asia\u2019s longest and highest cable car plan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The plan has 2 stages \u2013 Gulmarg to Kongdoori and Kongdoori\nto Apharwat Peak. The entire ride takes 21minutes where the 1st<\/sup>\nstage takes 9 minutes and the 2nd<\/sup> stage takes 12 minutes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The people who are very interested in adventure can also\nenjoy the chair car rides that are offered from Kongdoori to Marry Shoulder.\nThe hanging cable cars, at the 1000feet above the ground level and with the\nsnow-capped mountains are surely a mix of excitement and fear. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Khilanmarg is a small valley, site for Gulmarg\u2019s winter ski runs\nwhich is about 6 Km from the town centre. The place is carpeted with flowers in\nthe spring season. The meadows offer beautiful views of surrounding peaks and\nKashmir Valley. The place is an excellent move on with horse ride.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gulmarg Backcountry Ski Lodge\/resort<\/strong> is located on the western edge of the valley of Kashmir in Western Himalayas at an altitude of 8202 Ft from the sea level. From Gulmarg you get access to amazing tree skiing to local vaillages and get a Kashmir cultural experience. Skiers and boarders come here to enjoy the amazing abundance of resh, untracked powder covering the slopes of the Mount Apharwat. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
