Overview<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Vidhana Soudha Bangalore is popularly known as \u201cSouth India\u2019s Taj Mahal\u201d. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru entitled the place as the \u2018Temple dedicated to the Nation\u2019. The place houses the secretariat of Karnataka and the State Legislature of Karnataka and is the most attractive in the City of Bangalore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The entire memorial is brightened during Sundays and Public holidays. The first brick is placed on 13th<\/sup> July 1951 on the hands of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru with KC Reddy, the Chief Minister. In the year 1956 finally, the place is started to use and became India\u2019s Legislative Building. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The yearly maintenance cost will be approximately 20 million\nrupees which is more than they actually cost of the building the memorial i.e.,\nRs 18 million rupees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Construction and Architecture<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The memorial is constructed at a height of 150 Feet tall with\nthe Neo-Dravidian Style architecture. The building is surrounded by the super\ngreen trees and plants which are well maintained. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The structure has 4 levels and one basement that houses 172 rooms and is built using granite and hard rocks. The total memorial is extended in 48000 square meters. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the entrance of the building there placed a 4-headed lion that represent our National symbol of India. The building entrance has 45 steps, which are 200 feet wide and 70 feet deep, these steps will be directed to the large assembly chamber.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Vidhana Soudha is compressed of rich carvings, pillars, and chaitya arches. The most interesting thing about this is it was built by 5000 unskilled workers. The unskilled workers are previously the offenders. After the constructions of this memorial all these offenders were given freedom. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The memorial will give a spectacular view on Sunday evenings and on special occasions as the entire building will be lit up with thousands and thousands of colorful lights. This event will be performed even during evenings between 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM. This light show entirely performed on solar energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bangalore Bus Station to Vidhana Soudha \u2013 One can reach the place by taking a 15-minute walk. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bangalore Railway Station to Vidhana Soudha \u2013 3 KM and can\nreach in 15 minutes on vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bangalore Airport to Vidhana Soudha \u2013 35 KM and can reach the\nplace in 1 hour by cab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
