The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is worshipped as Neelamega Perumal along with his wife Thirukannapuram Nayagi (Goddess Lakshmi Devi).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Manavala Mamunigal, Nammazhwar, Pillai Perumal Lyengar, Thirumangai Azhwar, Kalamega Pulavar, Thiruninravur Tirumalai, and many other great poets and saints sang about this temple in their songs. In the holy Hindu Scriptures like Brahmanda Purana and Matsya Purana, there were some references of Thirumohoor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Architecture and History Thirumohoor Kalamegaperumal Temple<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The temple of Thirumohoor Kalamegaperumal is considered to\nbe more than 200 years old. The temple is referred to many great Tamil epics\nlike Silappathikaram, Pathitrupathu and Madurai Kanchi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The temple is spread over 2.5 acres and is known for its artistic architecture. The temple is constructed in Dravidian Style of Architecture. The temple was during the period of Pandyan King Sadaiya Varman Sundara Pandiyan. The temple is surrounded by ponds and other adjoining areas. Hindu Religious and Endowment Board of Tamil Nadu Government maintain the temple at present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The main temple has its complex and 3 of 4 water bodies surrounded by the granite walls. The temple has 4 prakarams. The main hall has columned pillars that lead to the Garuda Hall with a small gopurams. The Garuda hall consists of the idols of Lord Rama, Sita Devi, Lakshmana, Rathidevi and Kamadevan. The temple houses 48 gods other than Narasingha\nPerumal.
