Dharmasthala is the pilgrimage destination in Karnataka, dedicated to Lord Shiva. Lakshadeepa is the annual festival and is also known as Festival of Lights. This festival is in the months of November- December. Around the 16th century, Shri Devaraja Heggade invited Sri Vadiraja Swami of Udupi to visit the place.
