Pashupatinath Temple Daily Rituals

• 4:00 am – West Gate opens for visitors.
• 8:30 am – Priests (Pujaris)the idols of the Lord are bathed &cleaned. The idols will be ornate with clothes & jewellery
• 9:30 am – Baal Bhog / Breakfast offered to the Lord.
• 10:00 am to 1:45 pm – Farmayishi Puja (Special Puja performed for Specific Reasons)
• 1:50 pm- Afternoon Bhog/Lunch offered to the Lord in the main Temple.
• 2:00 pm- Morning prayers end.

Temple Closed till – Noon to 05:00 pm

• 5:15 pm – Evening Aarati at the main Pashupati Temple
• 6:00 pm onward: Bagmati Ganga Aarati at the banks of the Bagmati River
• 6:00 pm – Ganga Aarati, Shiva’sTandavaBhajan, narrated by Ravana, is carried out during the evening Ganga Aarati.

Note: There is heavy crowd of devotees during Saturdays, Mondays and on special occasions.

Bagmati Ganga aarti Kathmandu:

• Daily Evening –06:00 pm to 07:30 pm
• Duration – 90 to 120 minutes.

The evening Bagmati Ganga aarti at the banks of the river Bagmati is one of the popular events of the Pashupatinath Temple. Apart with the aarti the Shiva’s TandavaBhajan will also be carried out. One has to reserve 90 to 120 minutes to enjoy a glimpse of the evening aarti.
