Kakki Reservoir History

Kakki Reservoir located in Pathanamthitta of Kerala looks awesome from January to May. This facilitates boating and also one can enjoy the bird watching and the animal species nested in the forest nearby the reservoir. It was established in 1966. Also, the best part of the reservoir is the forest government launched the ecotourism project which provides all the fun-loving activities like trekking, boating, treetop walks, cloud-walks, jungle huts and other activities.

It is a tributary of Pamba. This reservoir is close to the Western Ghats. The Kakki reservoir is a part of the Sabarigiri Hydroelectric Project. It plays a dual role, one as the water reservoir and the other as the tourist spot.
