Iskcon Pandharpur History

Pandharpur is a small town located in the western part of Maharastra. Its a holy place of Lord Vitthala.The Chandrabhaga(Half-Moon) River flows to the town of Pandharpur and is famous for Iskcon Temple.

The Government of Maharastra and Isckon Pandharpur joined hands to carry out the riverfront project. The development project consists of 250 and 90m belt of the line joining the Isckon temple. The purpose of this project is not only to provide the essential sanitation facilities and utility areas but also adequate areas for singing and chanting of the lord holy names.

The Chandra Bhaga Mandir is constructed to perform the programs of the river. Traditional elements like Deepmala and small temples will create an ambiance to enhance the spiritual experience on the visit to the temple. There will be a huge garden with lush landscaping.
