Nagzira Wildlife Sanctuary is the place located between Bhandara and Gondia District of Maharashtra. The National Park is about 120 KM from Nagpur and is the famous and most important eco-conservation zone in Central India. Nagzira is a shelter for wildlife. This Sanctuary is a paradise for wildlife lovers and naturalists.
Nagzira means the Snake Temple and the perennial source of water that comes from Pongezara Hill. The park is surrounded by the natural beauty which will make the tourists fall in love with the place. The sanctuary is home for a number of flora and fauna species.
The Sanctuary is spread in 117 square KM in 1970. In 2012 the sanctuary is combined with another national park and started to reserve the Tigers. The forest is a shelter for a rich variety of animals and birds.
Best time to Visit Nagzira Wildlife Sanctuary
The Nagzira Wildlife Sanctuary will be opened from October 1st to 16th June and tourists should book in advance for the trip. The Sanctuary will be closed from 16th June to September 30th. This period is divided into 2 seasons winter and the summer.
Timings for the Sanctuary
The sanctuary will be opened on all days of the week from October 1st to June 16th.
- Winter Season – October 1st to 31 January.
The Park will be opened from morning 7:00 AM to evening 6:00 PM
- Summer Season – February 1st to 15th June.
The Sanctuary will be open form morning 7:00 AM to evening 7:00 PM.

For Nagzira the entry points will be at Mangezari, Chorakhmara Gate 1 and 2, and Pitezari.
For New Nagzira the entry points will be at Chorakhmara Gate 1 and 2, and Umarzi.
For Nawegaon the entry point will be Kohli, Jambhadi, Kohli, Pitambartola Gate, and Baki.

- At Pitezhari – 11 jeeps each in the mornings and evenings.
- At Mangezhari – 3 jeeps each in the mornings and evenings.
- At Chorakhmara Gate 1 – 6 jeeps each in mornings and evenings.
- At Chorakhmara Gate 2 – 5 jeeps each in mornings and evenings.
- At Jambhadi – 3 jeeps each in the mornings and evenings.
- At Umarzari – 7 jeeps each in the mornings and evenings.
- At Kholi – 3 jeeps each in mornings and evenings.
- At Baki – 3 jeeps each in mornings and evenings.

Only the recognized private vehicles are allowed. The jeep allowed inside should only have 8 members like 6 Visitors + 1 Guide + 1 Diver.
