Dehradun Robber’s Cave History
Dehradun Robber’s Cave also known as Guchhupani situated near the Sahasradhara means a thousand fold spring. It is about 8 km away from the Anarwala Village from Dehradun. This cave is actually a natural river water stream running through the cave leaving a cave behind. The cave was known as Guchhupani locally but the British named it as Robber’s cave because robbers used to hide in this cave hence it was named by the British as Robber’s Cave. Guchhupani is a 600 meter long formation which is been divided into two parts the first is the 10 meter high waterfall and a fort wall area which is now been destructed. The creepy rock formations and the natural cold water stream continuing as a walkway through the cave is quite lovely and adventurous. As Guchhupani is wining the hearts of tourists Uttarakhand State Tourism Government had added a bus service to Guchhupani or Robber’s Cave Point.
