Jagannath Puri Nabakalebar Festival details, Timings and procedure
The Nabakalebar is celebrated at regular intervals of 12 or 19 years. The Nabakalebar originally means Naba means ” New ” and Kalebara means “Body”. The recreation of the bodies(idols) of the deities takes place. New idols made of Neem tree are been replaced with the old ones. During Nabakalebar, the idols of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabadra and Goddess Subhadra and Sudarshan is been replaced.
