1. Temi Tea Garden
Temi Tea Garden is the only Tea Garden in Sikkim and is one of the best in India and even in the World. Top-quality tea is produced, which is in demand in the international market. The garden is laid over a gradually sloping hill. The tea produced in this garden is also partly marketed under the trade name “Temi Tea”. The Institute of Marketology of Switzerland issued the guidelines to produce organic tea have been adopted in this garden. In growing organic tea, agro-chemicals are avoided by the tea estates that results in low production costs. Many European countries and Japan have shown a preference for tea produced by adopting organic manuring method. This Temi Tea Garden is one of the top places to visit in Sikkim.
Estate:
The estate functions under a Tea Board set up by the Government of Sikkim and under its protection, the ‘Sang-Martam Tea Growers’ Cooperative Society’ has been established to promote the growth of different varieties of quality tea.” The Temi Tea estate was established in 1969 covering an area of 177 hectares.
Products:
The tea produced by the Temi Tea Estate are packaged under many brand names, the brand name “Temi Tea” is of the best quality consisting of pure tea “golden flowery orange pekoe #1”. About 75% of the tea produced in this estate is auctioned in Kolkata and the balance 25% is marketed as packaged tea in the domestic market.
The organic tea conversion is initiated in 2005. The changeover has involved the use of Organic bio-fertilizers such as cattle manure, neem cakes and vermin-composite manure replacing the chemical fertilizers used in the past.
Demand:
The tea produced at this tea estate is auctioned at Kolkata Tea Auction Center and has been able to garner one of the highest bids for its tea. Its export potential is gradually increasing and the Tea Board of the estate is making efforts to have a direct link with international markets. In an effort to increase the production of tea in Sikkim, the Industry Department of Sikkim has given an open invitation to entrepreneurs to establish more tea gardens in Sikkim.
Awards:
The tea board of India awarded the “All India Quality Award” to the Temi Tea Garden for two years of 1994 and 1995.

2. Gangtok Ropeway
Gangtok Ropeway (Samco Ropeway) takes the passengers to the highest point of the city of Gangtok covering the distance of about a Km in just 7 minutes. The cabin accommodates 24 passengers in each. This has 3 stops in only 7 minutes. The lower terminal station is located at Deorali Market, the intermediate terminal is at Nam Nang and the upper terminal station is below the Secretariat. One can truly enjoy the broad view as the Ropeway goes over the City.

3. Saramsa Garden
Saramsa Garden is an ideal place to wander for hours at a stretch. One can see a number of fruit trees and orchids inside this garden. This place is one of the top places to visit in Sikkim with your loved ones.
The garden is located at a distance of 14KM from Gangtok. Saramsa Garden is established in 1922 by the Forest Manager Bhim Bahadur Pradhan.
The main purpose of the garden was to cultivate fresh fruits like oranges, guavas, pineapples etc, for the British Political Officers.

4. Siniolchu Gangtok
Siniolchu is one of the tallest mountains of the Sikkim. The mountain is 22598 Ft. and is considered to be particularly aesthetically attractive. It is situated near the green lake adjacent to Kangchenjunga, the highest peak in the state and 3rd highest in the world. It’s the best place for trekking.

5. Zemu Glacier Gangtok
Zemu Glacier is a 26 KM long glacier draining the east side of Kanchenjunga the world’s third-highest mountain. It has received little attention, and hence we will have to rely on Digital Globe resemblance to observe its changes. Run of the river is much less expensive than a dam in this remote, earthquake-prone, mountainous valley. A view of the lower glacier indicates this heavy debris cover, with some scattered small glacial lakes on its surface. The lower glacier has thinned by approximately 150 feet in the last century.
The Teesta River rises from the snout of this glacier. Icefalls and waterfalls have formed at the junction of the tributary glaciers with the Zemu glacier.

6. Lal Bazaar Gangtok
Lal Bazaar is located just below the MG Road and is a walkable distance from most of the hotels around in Gangtok. It portrays the true vibrant colors of Sikkim. Here the local farmers around Gangtok assemble to sell their products. The old Market is been modernized into a shopping complex Khangchendzonga Shopping Plaza.

The goods on sale are equally diverse ranging from cheese, butter, incense sticks to the latest electronic gadgets. The 1st and 2nd Floors of the building are entirely vegetable shops and the 3rd and 4th floors mostly sell clothes of different ranges and types.
