1. Menmecho Lake

Menmecho Lake is one of the most beautiful Lakes in Sikkim. It is located at an altitude of 12500 Ft. Surrounded by the untouched pine forests and deep slopes. This lake is 4Km from Baba Mandir.

One cannot reach this place via car or any other transport. Trekking is the option to visit this place. One should trek for 4KM to reach the lake. Apart from its mystic beauty, Menmecho Lake is also famous for its Trout Population.  The lake is one of the best trout cultivation centers of Sikkim and the fisheries department even maintains a cottage here.

Menmecho Lake Timings
Summer Season – 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Other seasons – 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM.

Time To Be Spent: 4 – 7 Hours, if trekking.

Best Time To Visit: June- December.

2. Elephant Lake Sikkim

Elephant Lake is almost 14000 Ft above the sea level which is surrounded by the snow-capped Himalayan mountains of Sikkim. This is also known as Kupup Lake. This lake comes just before the Baba Mandir. This is close to the Indo-China border and has always offered nature lovers and adventure fanatics the much-desired joy of the thrilling tour.

3. Aritar Lake

Aritar Lake Sikkim

One can feed the fishes and swans in the lake. The small temple dedicated to Guru Padmasambhava is located on the banks of Aritar Lake. Still, the lake holds its charm as an emerald green lake amidst an untouched pine forest.

Aritar Lake is also known as Lampokhari Lake, one of the oldest natural Lakes in Sikkim. It is located at an altitude of 4600 Ft. The Lake is surrounded by Verdant green pine forest. From the mountain Mankhim, there is a narrow jungle path which connects the Lake.

Timings: 24 Hours, but preferred to visit from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
