Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga Temple is also known as Dhushumeshwar Temple. This temple is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas. This temple is situated in the small village named verul of Aurangabad district. From Grishneshwar Ellora is just at a 1 km distance, one can walk or can drive to Ellora from Grishneshwar. The temple architecture emits the South Indian temple style of architecture. The temple has a shikara which is 5 tier shikara. The temple follows daily many rituals and pujas. The Grishneshwar Temple Drop Ritual is a unique and a strange ritual followed by the local villagers and some other devotees who would like to perform this ritual. In this ritual a small baby is kept on an edge of 50 ft high tower and rolled down passing through a cloth or a blanket safely down. The ritual is performed as the devotees believe that by performing this ritual the baby will be leading a healthy and a wealthy life.

ग्रिष्णेश्वर ज्योतिर्लिंग मंदिर 12 ज्योतिर्लिंग में से एक हे । यह मंदिर औरंगाबाद ज़िले के वेरुल नाम के गाँव में स्तिथ हे । ग्रिष्णेश्वर मंदिर बहुत ही प्राचीन शिव मंदिरों में से एक है । रोज भोलेनाथजी की पंचामृत से अभिषेक किया जाता हे । दूर दूर से भक्तों शिवजी की ज्योतिर्लिंग की अभिषेक और दर्शन करने आते हे ।अनेक रसमों रिवाजों से यह ज्योतिर्लिंग मंदिर चमका जाता हे । शिवरात्रि, गणेशकजहतुरति जैसे मुख्य त्यौहार पर अनेक किसम के पूजा, आरती, अभिषेक शिवजी को अर्पित करते हे। ग्रिष्णेश्वर मंदिर हमेशा भक्तों के भीड़ से भरा रेहता हे ख़ास किसम से त्यौहार के दिन पे । भक्त ज्योतिर्लिंग की दर्शन प् कर शिवजी की कृपा , आशीर्वाद और मुक्ति पाते हे ॥

The Temple of Grishneshwar as a unique ritual, the local villages slide the infants and newborns over a 50 ft high tower which slides over a blanket. The ritual looks dangerous and strange but the locals and the villages perform this ritual. The legends say that in the ancient days devotees sacrificed their infants to the lord but the infants were safe and were cradled in a safe cradle. The ritual is still followed; they believe that the child will have good heath, long life and successful life. This ritual is known as Grishneshwar Temple Drop Ritual.
