Kudremukh National Park History

Kudremukh National Park located in the Chikmagalur district of Karnataka. This National Park is the second largest park located in Bangalore. It occupies about 600 square kilometres of area. Kudremukh literally means “Horse Face”, this National Park is flourished with dense flora and fauna. Across the northern and eastern boundaries of the park, aromatic coffee and tea plantations could be observed. It was established in the year 1987.Apart from the wildlife population, this place is also popular for the Temple of goddess “Bhagavathi”, and the image of the “Lord Varaha” which measures about 1.8 m. Also the beautiful rivers “Thunga Bhadra” flows through the lands. The Park also conducts the Nature Camps to know much about the biodiversity and nature’s beauty of Kudremukh.
