Ushakothi Wildlife Sanctuary History:

Ushakothi Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the popular tourist destinations of Orissa. This Sanctuary was established in the year 1962 and stretched to an area of about 285 square kilometres.  The Sanctuary composed of two watchtowers, which gives the best look of the Sanctuary. These towers measure about 30 feet high. Also one should get a prior permission to enter the Sanctuary. Also, Photography is strictly prohibited in this Wildlife Sanctuary. The Sanctuary shows wild varieties of flora and fauna. The Sanctuary shows dry deciduous forest.  The best time to visit this Sanctuary is between Octobers to May.  This Sanctuary has a great population of birds, among all the racket-tail dragon stands as the major attraction. As Orissa is easily connected with many other cities one can easily reach this wildlife destination to watch the beauties of the Sanctuary of Orissa.
