Mount Harriet Park History:
Mount Harriet National Park is one of the beautiful National Parks of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Have you ever observed the picture on the back side of the Indian Currency note (Rs 20/-) This picture is been taken from the great “Mount Harriet National Park.” This park is named after the (Harriet Tytler) 2nd wife of Robert Christopher Tytler. This park was established in the year 1969. This National Park measures about 4.62 square kilometres and the Mount Harriet measures 383 meters “1,257 feet”, which is the part of the park. This third highest peak in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. This is present next and near to the Saddle Peak. One can feel the marine climatic atmosphere in and around the National Park. One can trek through this park crossing through the spectacular beach. On the way through their journey, one can experience the beach view, the marine life and many more adventure fun spots along with the breathtaking beauty of Andaman. One can also spot the tribal community living among the tropical forests of the park, who are known as the Negritos. These tribal communities are known as the hunter-gathers. Crossing the way about two kilometres away one can spot the Kalapathar also known as Cellular Jail. As this National Park is the highest point, one can also spot the Havelock, the popular beauty spot of Andaman.
