Sita Gufa Nashik Maharashtra

Sita Gufa Nashik History

Sita Gufa is the place in Panchavati, where Sita Mata was abducted by Ravan. It is situated in Nashik of Maharashtra. Panchavati is a densely populated town which has a huge spiritual and religious significance among Hindus. Panchavati used to be a part of the Dandakaranya forest. This was the place where the Rama built his abode with his brother Laxman and wife Sita when he was sent to an exile of 14 years.

Sita Gufa Architecture:

The Gufa is very small but very famous. The idols of Lord Ram, Sita and Lakshman are inside the gufa and also a Shivling where Sita Mata used to offer pujas. At the entrance of the gufa one can find the Banyan Tree which was planted by Sita Mata. One has to visit inside the gufa in a sitting/bend position as the way to enter is very small and narrow. One can really enjoy the visit to this place.
