Umananda Temple History:

Umananda Temple Assam situated on an Island, the temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Devotees worship the Lord and also take a look of the Peacock Island especially during Mahashivratri, the popular festival celebrated as a dedication to Lord Shiva every year. As the temple resides on the Island one have to take a ride through the ferry crossing the river Brahmaputra. After that, there is a walkway through which devotees climb to the temple.
