Catherine Water Falls are located in Kotagiri near Ooty. The place is very famous for its privacy from this busy life of urban areas. The Falls are surrounded by the lush green Nilgiri Hills and will witness the beauty of Nature. The height of the falls is 250 meters and is a double cascade fall. This fall is regarded as the second-highest waterfall of Nilgiris.

The place is in the lap of nature for travelers to immerse themselves in the surroundings. The emerald forests and the tea gardens take the visitors to feel like they are in heaven. It is an ideal spot and is the best place to visit in the whole district of Nilgiri. The water from the Kallar River flows through the Mettupalayam via Ooty road on the upper level of the mountains inflows in a double cascade from about 250 meters high.

The waterfall is natively known by the local people as “Geddhehaada Halla” called as “Foothills of Dale River” in English.

The entire area is surrounded by beautiful greenery of the forest of Nilgiri Hills, plains of Mettupalayam and tea plantation. One can see the beauty of the fall from the Dolphin’s Nose which is 1000 feet above the sea level.
