Adalaj Stepwell History:

Adalaj Stepwell is also known as Rudabai Stepwell situated in a village named Adalaj. This step well was constructed in the year 1498 by Rana Veer Singh. This Step Well emits the beauty of Indian architecture. These Step Wells are the sources of water in Adalaj area.  This is one of the giant wells which is been constructed in the 15th century. This is a five-storied deep well which a magnificent carving and architecture.  During 5th and 19th Centuries, these Step Wells were also known as Stepped Ponds. The well is in an octagonal shape. The ceiling of the well is provided with an open top which permits the light to penetrate into the well. The architectural design emits the Indo – Islamic culture. The fine carvings of the Step Well are eye-catching. Gujarat Tourism organization allows visitors to have a look at this spectacular construction.
