Gandhi Ashram History:
Gandhi Ashram also is known as Sabarmati Ashram, Harijan Ashram and Satyagraha Ashram. This Ashram is situated in Sabarmati (Ahmedabad). Mahatma Gandhi lived in this ashram for 12 years along with his wife (Kasturba Gandhi). Also from here Mahatma Gandhi started the movement of “Dandi March” that is the Salt Satyagraha movement. In honour to the great Independence movement or Indian Government made this Ashram as one of the National Monument. Presently the Ashram also exhibits the museum. Many establishments occurred in this Sabarmathi Ashram like the museum and others like Magan Niwas, Vinoba Mira Kutir, Upasana Mandir, Somnath Chhatralaya and others. These establishments named after the people who were close to Mahatma Gandhi.
