Palamau is enumerated with the world’s first tiger census, the Palamau consists of a national park which is stretched to an area about 1014 Km Sq Km^..Betla was the first national park to become a tiger reserve under the project tiger. The Betla national park about 226.33 Sq Km The people of  Palamau belongs to the following groups like Chero, Kisan, Munda, Kherwar, and Birjia.

This park is the earliest 9 tiger reserves in India. This park shows a distinct vegetation of tropical wet evergreen forest, the deciduous forest. it shows the population of bamboos, sal and other medicinal plants. The Betla national park consists of various species of mammals like Leopard, Tigers, Dhole, Pangolin, Hyenas.A variety of birds like  Cotton teal, Quail, Wagtails, The crested serpent-eagle…etc.

This National Park has many peculiarities like Elephant safari Kechki River, Watchtowers, Jeep safari etc are found in this Park.
