Cotigao Wild Life Sanctuary History:
Cotigoa Wildlife sanctuary is one of the popular tourist destinations of Goa. It was established in the year 1968. This is the 2nd largest National Park. This is one of the thick sanctuary covered with heavy trees, these trees are such heavy even sometimes it is difficult for the Sunlight to reach the ground. The animal housed in the sanctuary roams freely which gives an illusion of natural habitat of Wild Life Species. This sanctuary is rich of greenery and peaceful atmosphere. This beautiful Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the hidden gems of Goa. Also one can click many pictures to preserve this memorable beauty. This place is also known for picnics with friends and families. It is advisable to carry snacks, water and some eatable while visiting this nature’s paradise as there are not many good facilities regarding eatables. Also, the park is spotted with some little water springs where one can also get some seasonal water showers in freshwater springs.
Also the Bela Lake, the Nadke Kuske is breadth taking the view, the butterfly park houses hundreds of butterflies entire park is coloured and flourished with the colourful butterflies. The park as an exhibit of a giant whale which was found on the Palolem beach of Goa. Also one of the unique and attracting points of this park is the “Mud Puddle”, it is present in the butterfly park. It is because all butterflies cannot take their nutrients through nectar from flowers some butterflies collect nutrients from soft mud, this phenomenon is especially observed in male butterflies. This unique feature could be observed in this park. The entire wildlife Sanctuary is typically divided into Nature Trail and Butterfly Park. Also one can search for the treetop over the riverside and many beautiful views to view. Each and every step makes you feel amazed at this Wild Life Sanctuary.
The Wild Life Area exhibits the Starting Point From Ashatagal Gate and towards Left Kuske Nadke is seen and towards its right Hedumol Gate and it leads to Bela Gate and others. The Tulshimol Watch Tower opposite to Bhuypal Village which one kilometre away, from here one can spot many different animal species and the beautiful view of this park
