The Kangla Fort in Imphal is regarded as the pride, the fort speaks about its rich history, culture and tradition. The Fort lies close to the Imphal river. This Fort stands as the symbol of the state’s  glory. This fort is a famous tourist spot, it attracts the tourists by its archaeological significance, and also the ancient history pulls the visitors towards itself.

           Many legends developed the fort glory, in the year 2004, November 20, Assam Rifles, the state government of Manipur worked hard to bring back its lost heritage. The fort was declared as “The Manipur Ancient and Historical Monument and Archaeological Sites by the Manipur Government. The fort is about 236.84 acres.
