The Maibong hill station is located at a distance of 338 kilometres far from Guwahati. The hill station is the most visited hill station in Assam. The hill station was the kingdom of old Kachari, it was the capital for 2 or more centuries which was ruled over by the Kachari Kings.The speciality of the Maibong hill station is the most tolerable climate throughout the year which due to its longitudinal angle of location. The longitudinal angle ranges from 25.30N and 93.170E.

The Sculptures of the Hill station are much attractive, each sculpture of here self-explains itself. The hill station boasts an ancient temple that is the Ramachandi temple which was built in  1536 AD. Later the Kachari rulers were defeated by the Tai – Ahoms in a war, after the battle, the kingdom was shifted to Dimapur. The hill station is at the banks of the river Mahur which ranges at a distance of 47 kilometres from the Haflong. The hill station is famous for its scenic beauty also boasts up the ancient belongings which highlight the ancient sculpture and the ancient Ramachandi temple is the most attracting viewpoint of this hill station.
