This lake was declared as the bird sanctuary in April 1969. This sanctuary is an association of muddy lagoons, dotted 360 islets and Shallow waters. It stretches over an area of 120.82 Sq.Km. Declared as the Ramar site since 24 Sep 2012.

Commonly seen birds are Grey-lag geese, Open-bill stork, Glossy ibis, Coots, Cranes, Rosy pelicans, Lesser and greater flamingos, Egrets, Rails, Teals, moorhens and wanders etc.

It was estimated that 250+ birds present in this sanctuary. Birds flock reaches high in the Mid monsoon season.

Mongoose, jungle cat, Jackal, wolf and hyena inhabit in this sanctuary.

Best Time for Migratory Birds: Oct- Apr.

Migratory birds from Central Asia, Europe and Siberia arrive here in the month of Oct/Nov.

Nalsarovar Bird Sanctuary Timings: 6:00 am – 6:00 pm

Ticket Counter Timings: 6:00 am – 5:30 pm.

It remains open on all days..
