This park is inhabited by Snow leopard, Blue Sheep, Black and Brown bear,
Himalayan musk deer etc This park was established in 1982 and as the UNESCO site in the year 1988. This biosphere stretches over an are of 2237 Sq. Km and is located at an altitude of 7817 mt above the Sea level.
This park is situated around the mount Nandi Devi which is the second Highest peak in India.
Included as the UNESCO biosphere reserve in the year 2004.
It is said that Nanda Devi is an incarnation of Goddess Parvati or Sister of Parvati.
