Places To Visit In Gulmarg
Gulmarg is located at an altitude of 8956.69 Ft. above the sea level. The place is known for its scenic beauty as the place is surrounded by snow-capped mountains, lush green meadows, evergreen forested hills, valleys and deep ravines. The place is known as ‘The Skiing School and Honeymoon’ spot.
The place is been developed as an adventure hub as Indian Institute of Skiing and Mountaineering is located here. A lot of courses on trekking, mountaineering, skiing etc. are offered here. The place is also one of the top honeymoon spots as there is no much crowd compared to the places like Manali and Shimla. The place is most famous for Ski destinations, for experiencing skiing on the snow loaded slopes winter is the best time to visit. In summers the place becomes more beautiful and in autumn the place is filled with the beauty of flowers that blossoms in the brightest of their colors.
Best Time To Visit:
Summer – March to June. For visiting all the places and enjoying the scenic beauty.
Winter – December to mid-March for experiencing Skiing.

Places To Visit In Gulmarg:
1. Gulmarg Gondola
Gulmarg Gondola is a ropeway started jointly by J&K government and a French Organisation, Pomagalski. This project is considered as Asia’s longest and highest cable car plan.
The plan has 2 stages – Gulmarg to Kongdoori and Kongdoori to Apharwat Peak. The entire ride takes 21minutes where the 1st stage takes 9 minutes and the 2nd stage takes 12 minutes.
The people who are very interested in adventure can also enjoy the chair car rides that are offered from Kongdoori to Marry Shoulder. The hanging cable cars, at the 1000feet above the ground level and with the snow-capped mountains are surely a mix of excitement and fear.

2. Khilanmarg
Khilanmarg is a small valley, site for Gulmarg’s winter ski runs which is about 6 Km from the town centre. The place is carpeted with flowers in the spring season. The meadows offer beautiful views of surrounding peaks and Kashmir Valley. The place is an excellent move on with horse ride.

4. Himalayan Ski School
Himalayan Ski school is the place where you can get training for the courses of Snowboard, Skiing, Trekking.

5. Places To Visit In Gulmarg:
Gulmarg Backcountry Ski Lodge/resort is located on the western edge of the valley of Kashmir in Western Himalayas at an altitude of 8202 Ft from the sea level. From Gulmarg you get access to amazing tree skiing to local vaillages and get a Kashmir cultural experience. Skiers and boarders come here to enjoy the amazing abundance of resh, untracked powder covering the slopes of the Mount Apharwat.
