Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary spread over 0.67 sq.km area, this was declared as a bird sanctuary in the year of 1940 of July. The bird sanctuary is named after Lord Sri RanganathaSwamy, the incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The bird sanctuary houses some exotic species of birds like Indian Peafowl, Brown headed Barbet, Common Hoopoe, black winged Kite, Eagles, Darters, Painted Stork, etc.
