The holy place where the discrimination between the caste and creed gets vanished, this is the place where the holy feet of Baba exists that is Shirdi. Shirdi is known as the residence of Sai Baba. In Shirdi, the feet of Sai Baba was first built in Khandoba Temple. the temple has no doors which make the Sai Baba temple unique from the rest.
Baba came as a fakir to Shirdi and became a role of god. The Khandoba temple is a symbol of Shiv Mandir which means shiv roop (Image) of Baba. The Shirdi is always busy with the devotees, the idol of Baba looks very realistic which gives an impression that Baba is watching everything. The milky white idol of Baba resembling and spreading peace everywhere. The holy bath of Baba is very peaceful.
On every Wednesday the devotees can touch the holy feet of Baba. Baba when first visited Shirdi a Purohit (priest) welcomed Baba by calling Baba as Sai, from that instance Baba is called and enchanted as Sai. As the Shirdi is Known as the home of Baba, hence Baba is called as Shirdi Sai Baba.
Architecture of temple:
The temple’s architecture combines traditional Indian temple design with elements that reflect the simplicity and humility of Sai Baba’s life. The main shrine, where Sai Baba’s samadhi is enshrined, is adorned with intricate carvings and decorations. The temple features a sacred atmosphere that promotes spiritual contemplation.
Main Sanctum:
The sanctum sanctorum houses the samadhi of Shri Sai Baba. It is the most revered part of the temple complex and is adorned with garlands, flowers, and other offerings. Devotees can pay their respects, offer prayers, and seek blessings from the saint.
Dwarkamai:
Adjacent to the main temple is Dwarkamai, a mosque where Sai Baba spent a significant part of his life. It is a place of great spiritual significance, known for the compassionate and selfless acts performed by Sai Baba.
Another important spot within the temple complex is Chavadi, where Sai Baba spent alternate nights. Devotees gather here to remember his presence and teachings.
