The Sunderban Forest situated in West Bengal of India, it is stretched about 1600 square kilometres and 985 square kilometers of water bodies approximately.The Sunderban showsa tiger reserve streched to an area of 2585 square kilometer . In the year of 1984 the Sunderban was declared as the National Park. It is regarded as the largest estuarine sanctuary of the world.
The Sunderban Forest shows the population of mangroves (Plant species grows in the saline soils), the salinity is created by shedding of salts drained by the rivers sangam (union) Meghnassss, ganges and Brahmaputra.
A Variety Floral species like Phoenix , Excoecaria, Rhizophora , Ceriops, Bruguiera, Avicennia, Heritiera, Xylocarpus and Sonneratia and the rest of others are seen here. These floral species grows under the saline waters, brackish..etc. The Sunderbans shows Palm swamp types and Tidal swam types of forests.
The Sunderbans also shows a variety of Fauna, majorly tigers and the rest involves Turtles, dolphins, River Terrapin, Olive Ridley, species of Shark , Ray, Phythons and snakes (Banded krait, Green Whip Snake, King cobra, Russells Viper..etc ), Magars…etc. The Sundarbans also shows a variety of birds about 248 species of bird species(Ducks, Herons, Partridges and Seagulls…etc, ) are seen in Sunderbans.
