Varadharaja Perumal Temple History:

Varadharaja Perumal Temple also known as Sri Thiripura Sundari Udanurai Temple and Sri Vedhapureeswarar Devasthanam. The temple is one of the popular temples of Puducherry. The Temple Architecture resembles the form of Tamil Temples. The temple celebrates a great form of festivals. These temples are known for their architecture, mode of festivities and for rituals. Like other Hindu temples, this temple also has many sub-shrines dedicated to the other Hindu deities.  The temple has the sacred tree the Vanni and a holy tank known as Brahma Theertham which measures about 80 X 70 feet. Devotees could perform holy rituals among these holy bodies. The temple resembles the Dravidian architecture.
