Fateh Sagar Lake Udaipur History:

Fateh Sagar Lake situated in Udaipur is one among the popular lakes of Udaipur Rajasthan. The lake is an artificial water body named after Maharana Fateh Singh of Udaipur and Mewar cities. The lake is toward the north to the palaces lake the Lake Pichola. There are three beautiful islands located within the confines of the Fatehsagar Lake, one is the Nehru Park which is about 4 square kilometres, the second island measures 0.06 km² and the third island is about 1.2 km^2. All the three islands have their own identity and speciality. One is popular for Childrens Park and a fountain, the other for motor boats and the third is popularly known as the USO “Udaipur Solar Observatory”. The mountains over the island and the blue water of the lake gives a great view just like the Kashmir, and hens Udaipur is called as the second Kashmir.
