The Haflong hill station serves as the district headquarters of the North Chavhar hills. The Haflong hill station is locally known as the “White ant hillock”, the Haflong is surrounded beautifully with more than 2,00,000 flowers.

The Haflong hill station gives full pleasure to various tourist spots like the famous Jatinga Valley, Jatinga river and also provides the features of trekking and hiking spots. The Haflong hill station is a scenic tourist spot of the northeast India. the Haflong hill station is at a little distance from Silchar and can easily be reached. The Haflong hill station is rich in many diversities of religions like Karbis, Dimasas, Hamars and Nagas. The weather of this hill station is pleasant throughout the year. the temperature reaches maximum to 24 to 30 °C and the minimum temperature with 10 to 14°C. The Haflong is prone to rainfalls in the months of May which continues to till the month of September. The chilling breeze, the dusky weather, the crystal-like dew drops add essence to its beauty.
