Idukki Dam Kerala History
Idukki Dam is the 14th largest dam built across the Periyar River. It ranges 169 meters is one of the huge dams in Asia. It was established in the year of 1973 of February. It is one of the beautiful destination situated in Kerala. Earlier the entry for the public was prohibited due to the security purpose. Thereafter the festivals of Onam and Christmas its entry was permitted to the public. It is opened all days of the week from morning to evening. As it is serene and calm it is the perfect location to chill out with family. It stands iconic as it is been constructed between two mountains.
