This station is at 1911 mt above the sea level and provides a mesmerizing view. It falls on the Munnar-Kodaikanal Road and is at Kerala- Tamilnadu border.
During British rule, a Ropeway built in 1924 for the shipment of Tea Leaves. This ropeway spread over 3 stations: Top station, Central station and Bottom station (Kurangani). From Kurangani, the shipment was transported to Bodi (the nearest Railway station).
Commonly seen birds are Nilgiri Wooden Pigeon, Kerala Laughing Thrush, White-bellied Shortwing, Crimson Sunbird and Black-and-Orange Flycatcher.
