According to the legends, this temple of Nine planets was constructed by Lord Rama. Lord Rama constructed this temple of the nine planetary deities as the demon Ravan kidnapped goddess, Sita. As Ravana has a boon that he would be killed by any Celestial God.

Lord Rama consecrated these deities with special unique mixture known as “Nava Paasaanam”, it is believed that these idols have some medicinal properties which have the ability to cure diseases. This place got the fame as Lord Rama consecrated this temple by himself. This Place is popularly known as the Sankalpa Mantapam and Parihara Sthalam.
