Palakkad Fort History:
Palakkad fort situated in Palakkad of Kerala was rebuilt by Hyder Ali in 1766 century. the Palakkad fort is named after Tipu Sultan, son of Hyder Ali, hence the fort of Palakkad is also known as Tipu’s Fort. This massive fort exhibits a giant ground known as Kota Maidanam which is now used for cricket matches. Also, a open air auditorium known as Rappadi is been used for the preservation of Archaeological Survey Of India. Apart from that there a sub-jail, a small shrine dedicated to Anjaneya Swamy and a beautiful garden known as Vatika- Shilavatika which is a spectacular and more interesting view.
