Pateeswarar Temple History
Pateeswarar Temple situated on the western banks of River Noyyal, Coimbatore. Built by King Karikala Chola.
Arunagirinathar and Kachiappa Munivar narrated about the temple in the poetry.
Its a temple of Lord Shiva and the idol Worshipped is “Swayambu Lingam”.
“Artha Mahal” and “Maha Mahal” were constructed during the rule of Raja Raja Chola.
Pateeswarar Temple Architecture
The main attraction is “Kanaka Sabha” adorned with the golden statue of Nataraja. The temple has several gopurams and halls.
The pillars have carvings of various incarnations of Lord Shiva.
