Punganoor Lake

Punganoor Lake is an artificial lake on the hill of Yelagiri. It is a small lake spread over 57 square metre and 20 feet deep. The musical fountain is placed at the center of the lake and boating is offered for the whole family which is the major attraction of the Lake and is one of the popular places to visit in Yelagiri and no one leaves the hill without visiting this place.

The place has an extremely pleasant climate and offers a perfect weekend gateway. The route for the lake can be found very easily as the villagers are very friendly. The place offers lots of budget hotels as well as relaxing resorts around.

Pedaling and rowing boats are the options offered here and can enjoy the activities here for a maximum of 3 hours. One can enjoy the chirping of the birds sitting silently on the boat in the lake.

Jalagamparai Waterfall

Yelagiri is the coolest hill station located in Tamil Nadu. The place is surrounded by rose gardens and orchards. The Jalagamparai Waterfall is a fall formed by the breaking down of the Aattaru River. The state government took an initiation for the development of Yelagiri. A large number of tourists come to this place for relaxation and is one of the best holiday spots. The hill is known for its beauty among other hill stations.

The place is the perfect spot for photography and don’t forget to carry cameras. Local guides are available for assistance but there’s not that much need to be assisted by a guide as the local people are very friendly and can solve your queries. As the water flows from the rich rare herbs, the water has some of the medicinal properties.

Jalagandeeswarar Temple

Jalagandeeswarar Temple is located at the center of Vellore Fort. The temple architecture belongs to Vijayanagar Period. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva in the name of Jalagadeeswarar. The linga here dwells in the water.

The temple is known for its surrounding atmosphere. The temple is the home for several stunning monoliths, sculptures, massive gates, beautiful carvings, and big pillars.

Swamimalai Hills

Swamimalai Hills is the highest hill on Yelagiri which is situated about 4626 feet above sea level and is one of the tourist attractions in Yelagiri.

The Swamimalai hills is famous for trekking and mountaineering. It takes 2 to 3 hours for trekking and reaching the hill. The place is small but well-maintained. A temple of Lord Shiva is located on the Swamimalai hill. One has to pack their own food and water on trekking as the place doesn’t offer shops on their way.
