Thirupparamkunram Murugan temple History

Thirupparamkunram Murugan Temple is one of the popular Hindu temples of Lord Karthikeya. This temple is one of the six abodes of Lord Murugan. The temple has the popular Rock – Cut architecture. This temple was built in the 6th Century by Pandyas. It is said that the Lord Married Deivyani (Daughter of Lord Indra) as this place. The beautiful carvings of the images look amazing and realistic. The temple celebrates many festivals but the Karthika Deepam is the festival which is popularly celebrated, on this occasion deepam (lamp) is lit on the top of the hill. The idol of Lord Murugan is carved in such a way that Lord appears with a pleasant smiling face giving darshan to the devotees.
