The Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary also called Thekkady,  is popular for the tiger population, other wildlife and many interesting adventures. The beautiful rivers the Periyar and the Pamba play major contribution for the existence of the wildlife in the jungle. Also, these rivers play much importance for boating and other adventures.

The Clouds Walk is a long guided trek prolongs to 3 to 4 hours it starts from the Gandhi park at the Kolathupalam, this allows visitors to check on the tribal heritage museum, grasslands, evergreen & deciduous forests etc.

The Tiger Trail is a jungle trek conducted by a team of rehabilitated poachers and tree cutters of the park. By this trek, one can spot various wild species even the tiger of the forest. The trek covers the open valleys, hills. In this trek, vegetarian food is cooked and served. Also for the night stay tents and other preparations are done.

The Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary allows the public for camping in the jungle. The Camping can be done with a prior permission from the sanctuary. One can enjoy the forest fire, the wilderness of the jungle and can enjoy their jungle trail.

Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary Bamboo Groove:

In the eco-lodges, made of bamboos. There are about 15 bamboo huts built in the forest. One can get accommodation with luck to enjoy the jungle trip resting in the beautiful bamboo huts. This package provides bird watching, experiencing the tribal and wildlife. Also, the seminars and workshops at the bamboo grooves are also conducted.
