The Belur Math was built by Ramakrishna Mission in the year 1938. It is situated on the West bank of Hoogly river of the state West Bengal (India). The Math shows the blend of Hindu, Islamic and Christian style of architecture. The Math Railway station was inaugurated in the year 2007 which is dedicated to the Belur Math temple.
The magnificent Math temple is dedicated to Ramakrishna, Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda. The Math temple also shows a museum. The (ex-)honourable president Apj Abdul Kalam quoted the Belur Math temple as “The Place of heritage and national Importance”. The Math temple is stretched to a 40-acre area.

SRI RAMAKRISHNA TEMPLE :
The Ramakrishna statue at Belur Math is made of marble, the temple resembles the temple, church and mosque from different positions. This gives a message of universal faith. The temple top has three umbrella shaped tombs whose architecture is magnificent. The temple shows the idol of Ramakrishna placed on a lotus of 100 petals. The canopy and the doors are made of teakwood imported from Myanmar.

SWAMI VIVEKANANDA TEMPLE :
Swami Vivekananda temple of Belur Math is dedicated to Swami Vivekananda. This temple is stood in the area of cremation of Swami Vivekananda. A Bilwa tree under which Swami Vivekananda used to sit beneath it.

HOLY MOTHER’S TEMPLE:
The Sarada Devi temple is known as the Holy Mother’s Temple. The temple is placed over the place of Sarada Devi’s mortal burnt to ashes. It was constructed in the year of 1921 of December 21.

SWAMI BRAHMANANDA’S TEMPLE:
This temple was dedicated to Swami Brahmananda this temple is situated near the temple of Sarada Devi.

The museum is 2 storeyed which boasts the antiquities of Swamy Vivekananda, Sarada Devi and Sri Ramakrishna.
